Apple Shot
Content warning: graphic violence. Hitting your volunteer is shown in slow motion with blood. You can reduce or turn off blood in Settings.
Your volunteer stands down range with an apple on their head. Shoot the apple off. Every apple you hit moves you to the next stage, where you find a less accurate firearm in your hands: from a 12.7 mm rifle on a bipod at 300 m, through hunting rifle, carbine, lever-action and pistols, to buckshot and a flintlock musket.
How to play
- Aim by moving the mouse (click Aim first to capture it), or drag on a touch screen. Arrow keys make fine adjustments.
- Hold your breath with Space, Shift, the right mouse button, or the Hold button. It steadies your aim for a few seconds; hold it too long and your aim gets worse.
- Fire with a click, Enter or F, or the Fire button.
- The shot goes where your sights are when you click. With a scope it goes exactly there; with other guns it lands close by, spread by the gun and your trigger pull.
- Wind buffets your aim: the sight gets pushed downwind and wobbles with the gusts. The flags and the wind reading show strength and direction.
- Nerve: a clean miss costs one nerve. Run out and the run ends. Hit the volunteer and it ends at once. Every fifth apple gives a nerve back.
- Earn brass from every run and spend it on permanent upgrades: steadier hands, deeper lungs, a smoother trigger, steadier aim in wind and extra nerve.
